Midea Invites 175 Dealers and Technicians to New Factory in Cikarang
The factory visit was conducted to strengthen partnerships and increase AC production to meet Indonesian market demand.
Jakarta, October 22, 2024 - World-class electronics manufacturer, Midea Electronics Indonesia, received a visit from 175 dealers and technicians to its new factory in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java on October 14-16, 2024. This factory visit aims to strengthen Midea's partnership which is currently boosting Air Conditioner (AC) production to meet the demand for air conditioners in Indonesia.
Agusdin Lung, Head of Sales Residential Air Conditioner Midea Electronics Indonesia, said that in the first stage of the factory visit, Midea invited AC dealers and technicians who are members of the Indonesian Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technicians Association (ASISI) and the Indonesian Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Practitioners Association (Apitu).
"After we officially announced that the Midea AC factory is operational, this time we invite dealers and technician associations to be the first group that we invite exclusively to see the Midea AC production process directly. This is concrete evidence of us to meet the demand for AC in the Indonesian market," said Agusdin Lung, in Jakarta, Tuesday, October 22, 2024.
Jack Ding, President Director of Midea Electronics Indonesia, explained that during this factory visit, the company held a presentation session on Midea products and their main features. Furthermore, dealers and technicians were invited to see the history and long journey of Midea as one of the world-class electronics manufacturers along with its superior products.
Finally, the dealers and technicians took a factory tour to see the production process, including visiting the laboratory and warehouse. During this tour, Jack explained that one of the advantages of the Midea factory is that it has a Noise Testing Room. This facility functions to measure decibels or noise levels of indoor and outdoor ACs. Thus, Midea guarantees the noise of AC products at the best comfort level in its class.
"We are very pleased to be able to invite fellow dealers and technician associations to attend the Midea Factory. This dealer visit is proof that Midea is very serious about being present in Indonesia and supporting the government's TKDN program".
Midea previously announced the operation of an AC factory in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java, with an initial investment value of IDR 650 billion. The Midea AC factory is expected to be able to meet the needs of households in Indonesia. This expansion is also carried out to strengthen the brand positioning of Midea's air conditioning products to become the Number 1 AC in Indonesia.
Standing on an area of 51,405 square meters with a total building of 40,000 square meters, the Midea AC factory has been operating in stages since July 2024. This factory is targeted to be able to produce 400,000 units of air conditioners by the end of 2024, and increase to 600,000 units by the end of 2025.
Midea is also committed to meeting the domestic content level (TKDN) of 25% for its products. The target of fulfilling TKDN is to support the government's program, namely Proudly Made in Indonesia according to Presidential Instruction Number 2 of 2022. The factory in Indonesia also adds to the Midea AC production centers spread throughout the world, which currently number 36 factories.
"Our real step to make Midea AC the Number 1 AC brand in Indonesia is to build a factory here. We have started producing residential air conditioners in stages since July 2024. To continue to be committed to meeting consumer demand for AC products, Midea will fully produce AC at the end of 2024." said Agusdin Lung.
