Midea and Manchester City deliver latest phase of the global community football initiative in Bandung, Indonesia 

As well as educating local community members, Midea also donated 50 home appliances to the project center which have helped to create a comfortable and safe environment for the Young Leaders and community members that are involved in these football sessions. 

Midea is pleased to announce the delivery of the latest phase of the global community football initiative in Bandung, Indonesia. In collaboration with Manchester City and Rumah Cemara, the initiative continues to educate local youth about football, leadership, and sustainability.

As well as educating local community members, Midea donated 50 home appliances to the project center, which have helped create a comfortable and safe environment for the Young Leaders and community members involved in these football sessions. 

This is also supported by the Manchester City club charity, City in the Community (CITC), with the project delivered by 2 Manchester City coaches and 30 Young Leaders trained to encourage a more active generation.  

To mark the latest football initiative, Midea hosted an event at the Rumah Cemara project center featuring an opening ceremony and performance from local freestyle footballers. 

Hafizh Maulana, Head of Marketing Communication, Midea Indonesia, commented: "Midea Global has been a partner with Manchester City since 2020 and this year Midea is collaborating for the first time with this Young Leaders activity."

Furthermore, in 2024 Manchester City and Midea Global will also participate in football community activities in two countries, Brazil and Indonesia.

“In addition to providing their expertise for the sessions themselves, Manchester City also provided football equipment to be used during the training,” said Hafizh Maulana.

Rumah Cemara has a Sport for Development Division program through football activities for social change, through Midea's Charity activities for the football community, there was a good collaboration with Manchester City.

"Before the Young Leaders Festival was held, a 3-day training was held from Thursday to Friday, there was training from the Manchester City Coaches who came directly to Bandung and they provided a training material session as a children's coach," said Shilpi from Rumah Cemara.

"This Young Leaders program by Rumah Cemara will be distributed to partners or communities to train beginners or children's football," said Shilpi.

In addition to technical training, Rumah Cemara also inserts social issues into fun football such as HIV Aids, bullying, gender equality, and environmental issues, concluded Shilpi.
