Midea Australia Partners with Perth International Football Cup as Official Whitegoods Sponsor

Midea Australia, the Australian subsidiary of the world’s largest producer of major appliances, Midea, proudly announces its partnership with the Perth International Football Cup as the official Whitegoods sponsor.

The Perth International Football Cup will bring together elite teams from the Women's Super League – Manchester City, West Ham United, Leicester City – and France’s Division 1 team Paris Saint-Germain for an exciting tournament on home soil from 28 August to 1 September 2024.

As a global partner of Manchester City, Midea’s sponsorship of the Cup underscores its dedication to championing women’s sports and empowering athletes on the world stage. Esteemed Australian players Mary Fowler and Alanna Kennedy will take to the field for Manchester City, marking the first visit of any of these international teams to Australia and signalling a significant milestone in the global growth of women’s football.

Christie Yuen, Midea Group Marketing Manager Australia & New Zealand, said the sponsorship is an exciting move as Midea Australia's inaugural major event sponsorship following the brand's recent launch in the region.

“Midea Australia is thrilled to sponsor the Perth International Football Cup. This sponsorship is an extension of our global partnership with Manchester City and marks our commitment to championing women’s sports on a global platform”, Ms Yuen said.

“We’re also excited to be building our presence since our initial launch in Australia last year as we prepare for Australians to be able to access our range of smart home appliances from Australian stores in the coming months.”

From late 2024, Midea's comprehensive range of home appliances, including laundry machinesrefrigerators, built-in cooking appliances, microwavesdishwashersFloor care products, and small appliances, will be available in Australia. With a focus on energy efficiency and using the latest technology, these products are designed to offer Australian customers more options and greater convenience at competitive prices.

Midea began its partnership with Manchester City men’s and women’s teams in 2020, expanding to include City in the Community in 2021.
