BTU stands for British thermal units, it's the unit used to measure thermal (heat energy). The higher the BTU is, the greater capacity the model has to cool a room.
Air conditioners typically have a cooling capacity ranging from 5,000 to 25,000 BTU. We recommend to first measure your room, calculate the square footage of the space you would like to cool down, and then determine the amount of BTUs you will need according to the below chart.
